Gottschalk Umformtechnik from Ense specializes in the forming, punching and welding of sheet metal parts and assemblies for industries such as battery technology, conveyor technology, mechanical engineering and aviation. As a family-run company with around 35 employees, there is often not enough time for complex QA processes – especially when test reports have to be created manually. For a long time, this was a major burden in everyday life.
Initial situation: Test reports as an additional job
Before the introduction of Quali Spec, the creation of test reports at Gottschalk was a classic time waster. Dimensions and tolerances had to be read manually from drawings and transferred to Excel templates – often under great time pressure, in addition to day-to-day operations. The documentation was prone to errors and queries from customers were not uncommon. There was no QA department in the traditional sense – test reports were an unloved extra job for the team.

The aim is to fully automate QA documentation – without any additional work for the team. After all, inspection reports should no longer be a burden in future, but simply be generated on the side.
